Oh, Sarah Colonna, my only regret is that I took so long to purchase this book. Sarah was always one of my favorites on the "Chelsea Lately" round table so it's no surprise that I loved this book. It is an easy read that I didn't want to put down. It is honest, it is real and it is downright hysterical. I could relate to much more in this book than I ever thought. I brought the book with me on a recent cruise and had many laugh out loud moments, including the part where she makes fun of cruises and all inclusive resorts! The only excuse I can think of for the negative reviews are that they are from brainless people who also happen to be lacking a sense of humor. Buy this book. If you like to laugh, you will not regret it.

Sarah has a real page turner here. There's nothing singularly special about the book. Each chapter is just another story about her life as she relates it. The writing style is more conversational than narrative ... kind of like Sarah is right there talking to you. Her style is light and easy and her stream-of-thought very humorous. She relates events to other rationalizations and could-have-beens. She has a great mind for reality vs. "oh well" life. By the way, Ms. Colonna is probably the sweetest thing to grace the Chelsea Lately TV set. If you read this book, you will undoubtedly be entertained, and may even learn something about yourself. Either way, it's a light-hearted and fun read.
This book is hilarious. If you have a sense of humor, you'll find this book amusing. I took the book with me to work to read during my lunch and it did nothing but make me forget about a hard day's work and laugh. She's real and the fact that she isn't ashamed or afraid to discuss her intimate details with the world is great. I'd recommend this book to someone who just wants to have a good laugh.
Someday, in 20 or 30 years, Sarah will grow up, reread this book and be horrified. Sarah understands how to write comedy and there are some funny bits in this book but generally, there is too much information in bits, or not enough. Sarah could have benefited from content editing. This book proves the idea that most people's lives are less Interesting than they think they are. Perhaps Sarah's second book will be better.
As some of you may know, Sarah Colonna is one of Chelsea Handler's main writers for the Chelsea Lately show and After Lately. Sarah came to Los Angeles many years ago from Arkansas to pursue her acting and career. This book is about all the trials and tribulations, ups and downs of Sarah's life and relationships in LA,,... for better or worse. Her cynical real world view I find very refreshing and the book is an interesting read. Her choice of men, her waitressing jobs, TV and comic gigs ect. It's all there.. all written with great honesty and told in such a funny way that is so Sarah...It's a great, funny, honest read... Nice work Sarah!!!
If you enjoy Chelsea Handler's books, you will definitely like "Life as I Blow It" by Sarah Colonna. Their writing styles are so similar, it's hard to tell them apart. This book tells the story of Sarah's journey to Hollywood and her efforts to break into the world of stand-up comedy. Along the way, she encounters many men and does a lot of...INTERESTING things with those men, which she very openly chronicles for us in this book. What you have here is a fun, light, and hilarious read. It's a bit more serious at times than any of Handler's books, and I felt like Colonna breezed past about a decade of her life within the span of about 15 pages in the book, which was a little odd. All in all, though, it's a fun and humorous read.
I always liked Sarah the most of Chelsea's round table regulars. While having a craptastic few weeks, I reread Chelsea's books to lift my spirits and when finished I figured I'd check out Sarah's. I wasn't disappointed. If you like Chelsea's books then I recommend Sarah's, you can see why these girls are friends. Sarah is a bit more down to earth, not an outrageous liar (lol), but doesn't disappoint when it comes to vodka, whiskey, and poor decisions. Relatable. A girl I'd definitely like to have a drink with, I'm about to read her second book and hope there are more to come.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. Sarah Colonna has a very interesting history with boyfriends, jobs, roommates, one night stands, performing comedy, etc., and she talks about her experiences in a way that seems very genuine. I was worried I wouldn't like this book very much, since Sarah is on the show "Chelsea Lately" and when I read one of Chelsea Handler's books, I thought she game off as a little bit phony and like she was perhaps making up details to go with her stories to make them better. I also didn't find Chelsea's book particularly funny or interesting. With "Life as I Blow It", I felt connected to the author and thought she was funny without really trying.

I'm very interested in reading memoirs by comedians, which is why I bought this book. It isn't particularly edgy or filled with hilarious musings, but Sarah Colonna is definitely self-deprecating, willing to tell embarrassing stories, and she will explore any emotion she has connected to any of these stories.
